Day 1
The first day was definitely the busiest! Our first stop was where Lapu Lapu killed Magellan. Then we visited the Anthill Fabric Company and were able to see the different materials they make using ifugao patterns. After lunch and checking into the hotel, we went to the Taoist Temple. It was had really nice views and beautiful architecture. However, my favorite part of the day was going to Tops. The view was breathtaking and it was really the perfect place to see the sunset. We ended our day with dinner at a dampa. The food was really good and personally, I enjoyed the busy and noisy atmosphere. It kind of made me feel like I was at a family party.
Day 2
Our second day in Cebu was filled with a lot of history! We went to the Cebu Cathedral, Fort San Pedro, Heritage Monument of Cebu, and the Jesuit House. This day really showed me how culturally and historically rich Cebu is. My favorite tours of the day were at the Fort San Pedro and Jesuit House. It was also a very unique experience to get prayed over at the Cebu Cathedral. I’ve never witnessed anything like that before. Weirdly enough, it helped me to feel safe and protected.
Day 3
Day three was mainly free time for to have fun and relax. I spent the morning talking with Andrea about her experiences both within and outside the Philippines. I really could relate to her when it came to getting to know the Philippines and learning Filipino. I truly valued her insights on education and travel.
Cebu was truly amazing and may be my favorite excursion of all! We had an amazing tour guide, ate lots of delicious food, and got to witness the beauty of Cebu. I loved everything we did there and I hope to go back one day!
